CIRCLE TOWER
-Transformation & Circular Economy
The project is taking place in the 19th district of
Vienna, Austria. The APA-Tower, which previously
served as an office building, is being
transformed into a mixed-use space, with a
predominant focus on providing housing.
The location holds significant development potential
due to its excellent connectivity to public
transportation, cycling routes, and its proximity
to the city center. Furthermore, the surrounding
area has undergone substantial redevelopment
efforts, offering convenient access to a range
of services such as shops, schools, and sports
facilities, all within walking distance.
The project’s objective is to revitalize a neglected
building by transfomring it into social housing
and integrating circular prinicples. Furthermore
while also considering social, economic, governmental,
and behavioral aspects. This goal
will be achieved through various scales of intervention,
from the adaptive reuse of the entire
structure to smaller-scale space planning.
The project seeks to investigate ways how to
make use of the city stock and reinintegrate not
only a structure but also materials within the
urban fabric.
